Last October, Corning announced the NJCAA had approved eSports for intercollegiate competition with Athletic Director Isaac Bushey calling it “the fastest growing sport in the nation.”

The NJCAA is providing competition software, competition administration including bracketing, seeding and refereeing management.

The Red Barons purchased 18 Alienware computers designed for gaming and last year implemented a 1 plus 3 Game Design Program with SUNY Canton.

Meanwhile Coach Wylie says he grew up in Chemung County and opened a video game lounge in the area.  He is currently the owner and store manager of the Checkpoint Gaming Lounge in the Arnot Mall.

SUNY Broome Community College also has an eSports program
