The latest Saint Patrick celebration is going to be suffering from the same issue as Binghamton’s big parade March 4.  Really cold temperatures will challenge marchers and spectators.

Hillcrest is planning to hold its sixth annual Saint Patrick’s Parade March 11.

The Hillcrest Community Association is organizing the event featuring local businesses, sports groups, floats, antique cars and civic groups.

There will be a collection of new underwear and socks to be donated to U.S. for Kids.

The parade starts at the American Legion on the West Service Road and steps off at 1 p.m.  The procession goes down Chenango Street, turning right on Nowland Road and ending at a post-parade party at My Uncle’s Place.

Organizers say the parade actually started as a procession of riding lawn mowers.

Anyone wanting to participate should go to the American legion between noon and one.
