A month ago, the Binghamton Devils were the hottest team in the AHL and had gotten themselves into the playoff hunt and it looked like postseason was going to return to the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.

This would have been the final weekend of the regular season with the Devils at home on Friday against Hershey and Rochester on Saturday. My how things have changed.

The season hasn't officially been canceled and we all hope that they'll have a chance to get back on the ice.soon. So what now? There may not be Binghamton Devil hockey but here's a way that you can support the team.

98.1 the Hawk is partnering with the Binghamton Devils and the American Red Cross for a blood drive at the Christ Episcopal Church, 10 Henry Street in Binghamton on Friday, April 17th from Noon to 6 p.m.

Help Save Lives as there is a dire need due to a shortage of blood donations. Anybody who gives bold will get a Binghamton Devils ticket voucher for next season and a Dunkin' gift card.

All donors will also have a chance to win a Corey Schneider signed goalie stick and an hour ice session at the Floyd L. Maines Arena next year.

If you're nervous because of everything that's going on, don't because the Red Cross is taking extra precautions to keep donors and staff safe. They will have station sanitation after each donor and keeping proper social distancing. You can go here to see all the safety precautions that the American Red Cross is taking.

You are encouraged to schedule an appointment here and use the sponsor code "Binghamton"  or go to redcrossbolld.org.  Appointments made ahead of time are highly encouraged to maintain the best safety practices.

We may not be cheering them on at the Floyd this weekend but you can make a difference that will save lives. In the grand scheme of things, that's even more important. LET'S GO DEVILS and see you Friday, April 17th.
