
Get Ready For Back-to-School With Free Giveaways In Broome County
The kids may not want to think about it (or maybe some do), but back to school is about a month away.
In a release from Broome County District Attorney F. Paul Battisti, his office is joining forces with Community Partners and area law enforcement to host 'Free Youth Giveaway Events Across Broome County. '

Free Youth Giveaway Events Across Broome County Explained
These events are a series of youth-centered community events in partnership with local organizations throughout this month, with the goal of promoting youth safety, school readiness, and family engagement before the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year.
There are several events scheduled with certain features at each event, such as a bike helmet giveaway, backpack giveaway, car seat checks, ice cream truck, and live music.
These events represent a continued commitment to investing in our youth and ensuring they are safe, supported, and ready for success. Event Locations, Dates, and Times
Free Youth Bike Helmet Distribution
Youth Bike helmets are provided by the Harding and Mazzotti Law Firm.
August 4th - Windsor Diner at 20 Main Street, Windsor from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
August 6th at The Pantheon, 3599 NY Route 79, Harpursville, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
At both the August 4th and 6th events, the New York State Police will be on hand doing car seat checks. The ambulance and fire departments will be present, as well as music provided and an ice cream truck.
August 7th at the Endicott Farmers Market, 126 O’Dell Avenue, Endicott, from 4 to 7 p.m. The Endicott Police Department and New York State Police will be present at this event.
Backpack Giveaway
August 23rd at The Bridge, 143 Baldwin Street, Johnson City, at 1 p.m. This event will also feature food, free haircuts, and school supplies.
District Attorney Community Youth Night at the Binghamton Rumble Ponies
August 27th at Mirabito Stadium, 211 Henry Street, Binghamton. Gates open at 5:15 p.m. and the game begins at 6:07 p.m. The Broome County District Attorney's office is offering free tickets and food vouchers to anyone who would like to join.
All events are free and open to the public while supplies last.
