Well, I've had many embarrassing moments in my life. I'm sure I could fill many articles or maybe a book with all the dumb stuff I've done in during my lifetime. Some I would never admit to anyone.

Some of them are kind of lame, but embarrassing just the same, like assembling a new item, like a barbecue grill for example. I'm the typical guy who doesn't have time to read the instruction manual. Why do that when the parts are laid out in front of you and it all makes sense where everything goes?

Yea, for the most part that involves me getting the project half done, only to realize I assembled some parts backward. That's not only embarrassing, it's frustration since that means I have to start over.

I write all the promotion and station information stuff that our on-air personalities refer to during their shows. Unfortunately for me, I tend to type too fast and don't look over my grammatical errors. Of course, Jim Free and Doug Mosher love to make a point of it on the air during their shows whenever possible for all to hear.

But I think the most embarrassing thing to happen to me was when I was around 10 or so. I joined my father and one of my uncles on a fishing trip. I never really warmed up to fishing. I know it's a popular thing, and a great way to relax, getting all that pent up week long stress out, as you relax on a warm sunny day next to a body of water waiting for the fish to bite.

We were standing on a dock of a small lake near my home. My dad and uncle were fishing at the end of the dock, and I was on the side, a bit closer to shore. Well, I must have been really bored and I wan't getting any bites on my line. The next thing I knew, I was in the water, heading down to the bottom of the lake.

My father jumped in and pulled me out of the water. I was fine, but apparently my boredom turned into falling asleep while I was fishing, standing up! Now that's embarrassing. There was no way to keep that adventure quiet since we returned home with me soaking wet.

That story was told over and over for a long time much to the amusement of anyone who got to hear about it. It's one of those things you never outlive.
