You Can Easily Visit The World’s Bluest Lake from New York
How has your summer been so far? I've enjoyed the fact that we have had less rain than we did last summer. At least it seems this year has been less wet. Experiencing temperatures in the 90s was a bit much, but better than the sub-zero tempers we will most likely deal with next winter.
One of my favorite things to do in the summertime is to spend time at some of the many beautiful lakes in Upstate New York and Northeast Pennsylvania. Lounging dockside on a warm day with the sun sparkling off the blue water while listening to the radio is something I've enjoyed for as long as I can remember.

On the subject of our beautiful blue lakes, the website NYup.com published an article listing the 10 bluest lakes in the world. The top 2 are in the United States, and one of those lakes is just a little over a two-hour drive from the Binghamton area. Both of these lakes are shared with Canada, so credit where credit is due.
The 2nd bluest lake in the world according to the NYup.com article, is Lake Superior.
The honor of the bluest lake in the world honor goes to Lake Ontario.
You may ask, what exactly does the "bluest lake" mean, and how is this determined? I'm glad you asked. According to NYup.com, the website Canada Casino conducted a study, noting that the website analyzed "the color of 80 popular lakes worldwide via unedited satellite photos. With a color match tool, they found the average HEX color code of each lake and compared it to YInMn Blue, a brilliant blue hue discovered in 2009."
YInMn Blue is the truest shade of blue and even has its own Crayola Crayon. To round out the top 5 bluest lakes in the world:
Lac de Sainte-Croix in France shines blue at #5.
Lake Pehoé in Chile has that blue sparkle to land at #4.
Moraine Lake in Canada washes ashore at #3.
A day trip sounds good right now. How about visiting the bluest lake in the world? It's just a couple of hours away. Enjoy!
