These 6 Vintage Binghamton Commercials Will Make You Super Nostalgic
I experience that nostalgic feeling from time to time. How about you? It's hard to believe I've lived in the Binghamton area long enough to reminisce about the "good 'ol days."
When I first arrived in the Parlor City, our music was played from a record. You remember what a record it is, right? From records to tapes to compact discs, and now everything is run via a bunch of computers.

Our various generations have seen so much change. Probably more than any other. I first thought that the Baby Boomer generation (1946 to 1964) experienced the most change in their lifetime, but it's the Silent Generation (born in the mid-1920s to mid-190s) that has gone through the most change.
Back to the topic of nostalgia, do you remember these six vintage television commercials?
Action PSA featuring Johnny Hart's B.C. Characters - 1970s
This nationwide PSA came out in the early 70s, but the local angle of course because it was from BC. created by Johnny Hart. I remember seeing this when I lived in the Corning- Elmira area but had no idea that Johhny Hart lived in the Binghamton area.
Dick's Clothing & Sporting Goods - 1986
Back in the time before Dick's Sporting Goods became a huge, successful nationwide company, we had them all to ourselves. I remember when the guys would come into our studios to record their radio commercials back in the 1980s. If I remember correctly, they would nail the commercial read in one take, which is quite impressive.
Pudgies Pizza - 1986
I grew up in the area where Pudgies Pizza started - Elmira, New York, so when the franchise built a few restaurants in the Binghamton area, I was a happy camper. If my memory is correct, there were four locations. All four eventually closed, but fortunately, we have two back - Robinson Street, Binghamton, and Vestal Parkway, Vestal.
Metrocenter - 1995
Since our radio stations are next to the Metrocenter, my co-worketrs and I spent a lot of time there. More specifically hanging out in the food court. Remember that food court? I forget the name of the place that served pizza, but I do remember it tasted great.
Music City - 1997
I remember visiting Music City many times when it was located in Downtown Binghamton. Our WAAL studio still has a wall rack containing hundreds of Classic Rock CDs that we bought from owner Benny Fiacco.
Northgate Speedway - 1997
Do you remember Northgate Speedway in the Northgate Plaza? We had loads of fun racing around that track. Here's one of the commercials that aired in the 1990s.
