Memorial Day Weekend 2021 is here. Thinking back to this time last year, what a difference. We were still in the beginning stages of the coronavirus, and many of us confused as to what was going on.

For the Memorial Day weekend, parades and ceremonies were put on hold. Some are still on hold this year, but some parades are back and a few ceremonies will resume. Hopefully next year at this time, we will be back to as much normal as possible.

But one thing the coronavirus can't mess with, is our annual Memorial Day Weekend Classic Rock 500. It's a tradition we love to air every year, and have been doing so for about the last 25 years, I think. My memory isn't what it used to be.

We're counting down the songs you can’t get enough of from number 500 to number 1. Led Zeppelin, Bon Jovi, Tom Petty, they’ll all be in there, plus newcomers to the countdown like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica and Foo Fighters. Classic Rock was made for summer and there’s no better way to kick it off than with the Memorial Day 500.

The times you will hear the Classic Rock 500 countdown is as follows:

Friday 5/28 from 3pm to Midnight (yes, the countdown continues with Uncle Joe Benson and Ultimate Classic Rock from 7pm to Midnight.)

Saturday 5/29 from 10 a.m. to 12 Midnight

Sunday 5/30 from 10 a.m. to 12 Midnight (Time Warp will air at a special time - 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.)

Memorial Day Monday 5/31 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Last year, Sweet Emotion by Aerosmith topped the Classic Rock 500. Will Steven Tyler and the gang do it again? You'll have to tune in to find out. Take The Whale wherever you go this weekend so you don't miss out on this awesome Classic Rock 500.
