I was thinking it's time to remind the Whale Nation about some of the great things that go on during the weekends here at 99.1 The Whale.

First and foremost, Classic Rock takes the main stage on this radio station. You know that. It's what you expect and that's what we give you during our shows with Jim Free, Nikki Cruz, Don Morgan, Doug Mosher, Jay and Kat.

Saturday is straight ahead Classic Rock-n-Roll, but come Sunday, we mix up Classic Rock with some great features. Here's what we have in store for you every Sunday.

Sunday mornings at 6 am, we present a long running local public affairs show hosted by Kathy Whyte called Southern Tier Close Up. If you want to know some of the things happening right here at home that are of importance to our community, this is the show to check out.

At 7am, Bob Malik hosts 'The Beatle Years.' It's a one hour show featuring music, interviews, history and lots of trivia you didn't know about one of the best rock bands ever.

8 am Sunday mornings, we allow in one of the most strange, but interesting personalities on the planet for four hours - Bill St. James. He's like one of those Uncles you really like, but aren't quite sure what's going on inside that mind. The show is called 'Time Warp.' The company that produces his show (United Stations) describes it as "four hours of whacky witticisms, goofy sitcoms, cheesy commercials, old and..oh, yes…the greatest Classic Rock of all time!" Spot on.

10 pm every Sunday, one of the best rockers on the planet drops in with a show like no other. Little Steven Van Zandt, who you know very well, presents a two hour trip through all the years Rock & Roll has been around with 'Little Steven's Underground Garage.' Did I mention it's really different? Yep, and the show sucks you in because it's just that good.

Finally, most Sundays (sometimes it moves to a Monday or a Thursday) from early August though at least the first week of January, we bring you New York Giants Football radio broadcast play by play from the New York Giants Radio Network. Bob Papa, Carl Banks and the crew have the entire game covered for you along with a pregame and postgame show.

So there you are. Weekends on 99.1 The Whale. We hope you take us wherever you go every weekend. Enjoy!
