The snow fall times and totals vary as the massive storm system pulls in from the west and south and spreads through the Twin Tiers.

NOAA says the Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 7 p.m. February 2 for Broome, Tioga and Delaware Counties with total accumulation of eight to 14 inches possible.  The Winter Storm Warning for all of Northeast Pennsylvania, including Susquehanna, Bradford and Wayne Counties is in effect until 1 p.m. February 2 with an expectation of one to two FEET of snow.

The Winter Storm Watch is in effect from 10 a.m. February 1 to 7 p.m. February 2 for Chenango, Cortland and Tompkins Counties.  The National Weather Service is projecting snowfall totals for the watch area to be in the six to 12-inch range.

No matter the total accumulation amount, motorists can expect travel to be difficult right through the morning commute February 2 and even into the evening commute Tuesday for communities in the Warning area.

With the snow being a long-term event, road crews have a better chance of keeping up with road-clearing efforts.

Even so, in the Southern Tier, snow could fall at rates of up to an inch an hour overnight February 1 and blowing areas of snow will also be an issue.

Official advise motorists, if they must go out, keep an extra flashlight, food, blankets and water in the vehicle in case of an emergency.
