Two Murder Arraignments in Broome County Court
Two Broome County men accused of separate murders are due in Broome County Court February 22.
According to the court docket, 29-year-old Michael Lindow of Binghamton is scheduled to be arraigned for the fatal stabbing of 36-year-old David Royes of Binghamton December 2nd while 33-year-old Kyle Babola of Johnson City is scheduled for arraignment for a machete attack New Year’s Eve that left 55-year-old Scott Groover of Johnson City dead.
Binghamton Police were called to 110 Main Street shortly after 9 a.m. December 2 for reports of shots fired but instead found Royes in an apartment suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries. Later in the day, police found Lindow at an Asbury Street address and arrested him for murder.
On New Year’s Eve, Johnson City Police were called to a Floral Avenue home where they found Groover had been stabbed with what they at the time called “a sharp-edged object”. The weapon was later said to have been a machete.
Groover was taken to Wilson Hospital where he died. Babola was found by police on Helen Street in Binghamton and charged with the murder.
