Twin Tiers COVID Numbers Updated
While the Southern Tier of New York is on the lower end, statewide, of the percentage of COVID tests coming back, the number of new cases in the region is steadily climbing by the double digits with the death toll also rising.
Broome November 16 reported two more deaths, bringing the pandemic death toll to 422. There were 85 new cases. Broome reported 819 active cases, a new high and 72 people hospitalized with COVID-19.
Chenango County reported another death November 16, bringing their pandemic total to 87. There were 16 new cases, 185 active and 6 people hospitalized. Cortland County’s death toll remains unchanged at 85 but there were 29 new cases reported November 16, 148 active cases and 3 people hospitalized. Delaware County’s last report on Monday, November 15 announced one new death for a total of 68, 79 new cases since November 12, 245 active cases and 11 people hospitalized. Tioga County had 19 new cases and the death toll remains at 73.

The Northern Tier of Pennsylvania is continuing to show big increases in cases of COVID-19 and there were deaths reported in all three counties over the past week. Bradford County had 425 new cases. Four more deaths bring the pandemic toll to 128. Susquehanna County had 217 new cases over the past week and two more lives lost for a death toll of 71. Susquehanna passed the four-thousand pandemic total with 4,134 cases to-date. Wayne County’s 207 new case for the week brought that county over 6,000 cases. The pandemic total was 6,100 Monday, November 15. There were five more lives lost to the pandemic in Wayne County for the week, bringing the death toll to 119.
