The N.H.L. trade deadline has come and gone. Some teams have gone into full rebuilding mode including the New York Rangers, while other teams have picked up key pieces to help them in their playoff run. Teams that have made key acquisitions include Boston and Tampa Bay to name a few. I am a Philadelphia Flyers fan and I always have been. Last night they beat Montreal in a shootout to move into first place in the Metropolitan Division. The Flyers are playing great hockey and with the playoffs starting in six weeks now is a great time to be clicking on all cylinders. And the Flyers, like a lot of teams, are missing some key players due to injuries. But, just like the Eagles did in football, they are playing with the 'next man up' mentality. They've been plugging in players from their A.H.L. affiliate, The Lehigh Valley Phantoms, and they have been filling in quite nicely for the injured starters.

Speaking of the A.H.L., although the Binghamton Devils have no chance of making the playoffs, it has still been a very exciting and entertaining inaugural season for them. It's hard to believe they only have ten home games left in the season. All those home games except for one, are weekend games. If you haven't caught a Binghamton Devils game yet, don't miss your chance. Get your tickets and show your support for our local team. Their next home game is this Sunday at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena against Utica.
