I can't believe that it's almost here and I can't wait...what about you? I'm talking about opening night with the Binghamton Black Bears on Friday, October 14th. They'll begin their second season at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena against the Elmira Mammoth.

There are many exciting additions including Gary Gill as the new head coach replacing Rod Davison. I think Davison did a really good job and the Bears got within 13 seconds of advancing to the quarterfinals in the Commissioner's Cup Playoffs.

The league has added three new teams including the Elmira Mammoth, Mississippi Sea Wolves and the Motor City Rockers. As I mentioned Elmira begins the season on the 14th with Mississippi coming to town on Friday, October 21st and Saturday October 22nd.

Motor City will make their first stop at the arena on Friday, November 11th, and Saturday, November 12th.

Binghamton Black Bears Introduce New Broadcaster

There will also be a new broadcaster for the Binghamton Black Bears this season. Former Black Bears announcer Rob Lippolis has taken a job with the Adirondack Thunder as the team's Broadcaster and Director of Communications and we wish him well.

The Black Bears are proud to announce that Brooks Hill will join the team as the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations. He's a native of Wake Forest, North Carolina and attended East Carolina University.

Hill's background has been in baseball and basketball broadcasting and will now add hockey to his resume. The Binghamton Black Bears have 28 home games at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena and you can see the schedule here.
