Did you know that Binghamton is included in an online five-city New York State snowfall competition every year?

If you were looking forward to sledding and ice fishing at Nathaniel Cole Park in Broome County, the warm weather in the Binghamton area has ruined your plans.

As someone experiencing their first Binghamton winter, I can't help but notice that as January comes to a close the winter weather hasn't been that bad.

I'm already beginning to mentally prepare for everything a Binghamton winter brings. Including a chance for the city to reclaim the Golden Snowball award.

Last year, we took the crown for the most amount of snowfall among the five New York State cities in the competition.
