The National Weather Service in Binghamton says rain October 29 is expected to change to snow overnight with light accumulations possible. The greatest snowfall amounts will be across the higher terrain of the Catskills.

The Binghamton area forecast is calling for snow accumulations after 1 a.m. October 30 of less than a half inch.

Whether the precipitation will cause an issue for driving tomorrow morning will depend on elevation and temperature.

So far, the snow is expected to stick only to colder surfaces like grassy areas and not so much on roadways.

Still, motorists should be aware of current conditions and be prepared to clear snow off windshields and the possibility of some slippery spots at higher elevations.
