Rob Riggle is known for being a really funny guy, from his roles in Step Brothers, to 21 Jump Street, and as a correspondent on The Daily Show from 2006-2015. But, did you know that he served a long career in the Marines? His time in the service even extended beyond his fame. He even rose to the ranks of Lieutenant Colonel after 23 years of service!

According to Wikipedia, Riggle served in Liberia, Kosovo, Albania, and Afghanistan. He was a public affairs officer with the New York City Public Affairs unit and a received the Combat Action Ribbon.

Watch below as he describes his involvement in the 9/11 attacks, and the juxtaposition of the marines versus being a funny guy.

Do you have any favorite famous actors, musicians, comedians, etc, that served? Our mid-day personality, Kyle, has served also, and even earned his Combat Action Badge too. CLICK HERE to see his Iraq Journal entries.
