Drivers are being alerted to construction work that will slow traffic on the Johnson City roundabout, along with sections of Riverside Drive and Floral Avenue.

The nighttime pavement resurfacing operations in are scheduled to start Sunday.

According to the New York State Department of Transportation, the milling and resurfacing project will affect the Route 201 access ramps from the roundabout.

Repaving is planned for a one-mile section of Riverside Drive between the roundabout and Margaret Street near the Binghamton city line. A small portion of Floral Avenue also is to be resurfaced.

Motorists will encounter lane closures between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. while the work is in progress.

Bothar Construction of Broome County is the general contractor for the $3 million project.

Subcontractors have been doing related work near the roundabout to install sidewalk ramps that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act
