Local Emergency Services officials are reporting some road washouts, flooded underpasses and trees down around the region from the heavy rain and strong winds April 30.

In Broome County, Porter Hollow Road off Pleasant Hill in the Town of Colesville, where a drainage pipe installation was getting underway, was washed out. 

Problems also reported on Bradley Creek and the usual underpasses in the municipalities where poor drainage is an issue.  In the Village of Owego, the North Avenue underpass was closed.

Scattered power outages were reported throughout the day.

A loss of power at Cornell Cooperative Extension in the Town of Dickinson prompted Broome County Executive Jason Garnar to hold his daily COVID-19 briefing a short distance away at the county’s command center where he gave a little video tour of the site along with the news conference
