The Lids store, that sold athletic hats and clothing, was being emptied out this week by a couple of remaining employees.

Lids company officials could not be reached for comment.

The location is the latest of a growing list of stores pulling out of the shopping center in Johnson City, leaving mainly empty and locked store fronts.  Some of the mall's largest retailers, anchors: Mongomery Ward, Sears, Macy’s and the Bon-Ton pulled out, some several years ago, with other notable retailers like the local Van Cott Jewelers and Chemung Canal Trust opting to close up shop in the mall location.

Now, the mall property is in foreclosure with no payments on its multi-million dollar mortgage being made in several months.
