Post-Halloween Candy Dangers Reported in Southern Tier
There are some reports of nasty finds in Halloween candy in New York State, including in the Southern Tier.
In Endwell, candy covered in a green substance that may be mold was found. Authorities say they also were told of candy smelling funny and one chocolate bar containing a sewing needle. Some people said they got candy that felt wet or slimy.
All candy should be thoroughly checked before it is eaten. Anything that doesn’t look right, is homemade by someone not known to the recipient or that isn’t properly wrapped should be thrown away.
The moldy candy was reportedly found in a neighborhood near the Homer Brink Elementary School.
