This past Saturday was the annual Hibernian's St Patrick's Day Parade in downtown Binghamton. Parade participants lineup in the NYSEG Stadium parking lot, as well as on the streets surrounding the stadium.

Even though the parade starts at 1:30, our group did not start moving until a little after 2. By the time we made the turn onto Court Street by Saint Mary's Catholic Church, the official starting point of the parade, it was already 2:15.

We proceeded down Court Street past the thousands of people who braved the cold weather to watch the parade. If you were at the parade, check out the photo gallery below you might be in one of the pictures.

This year, after the parade finished, Chris and I met up with our friends Lisa, Doug, and Derek, and we all went to Seton Catholic School for the annual After St Patrick's Day Parade Party. It was the first time Chris and I ever went to this event and we had a blast.

The Mummer's from Philadelphia were there, as well as three different Celtic bands including the B. C. Pipe and Drum Band, and different local Irish dance groups as well.
The bands and dancers took turns performing in the gym as well as the cafeteria.

It was just five bucks to get in and regular draft beers were $2 and cans of Guinness were $3. There were traditional Irish foods including corned beef and cabbage and shepherd pie. Hot dogs, pizza and other items were available for the picky eaters.

We had a great time in the parade and at the after-party as well. If you've never been to Seton Catholic after the parade, I highly recommend you check it out.
