Oh, what a year 2020 has been and it's unlike any other time in my lifetime. The coronavirus pandemic has turned everything upside down. Isn't it amazing how we took so many things for granted and now that's it's gone, we would really like it back. Even the simple things like sporting events, weddings, along with our local fairs and festivals.

Tuesday, July 28 would have been the beginning of the Broome County Fair in Whitney Point. On June 1, the Board of Directors decided that they would have to cancel the Fair this year.

We may not be able to enjoy the demolition derby, truck pulls, and rodeo at the Broome County Fairgrounds but that's not stopping them from doing something special for our area.

They want to preserve the agricultural history of the county and provide family-fun for the community. They will be hosting a drive-thru Food Festival so save the dates Friday, August 14th to Sunday, August 16.

More details to come but if you're like me, it's great to have something to look forward to. Here's something else for you: The 2021 Broome County Fair will be happening from July 27 to August 1.
