The Broome County Agricultural Society has canceled the 2020 Broome County Fair as current restrictions on public gatherings in New York State prohibit events like the fair from being held in July.

Early in the onset of the pandemic, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo held out little hope that big attractions that bring a lot of people together from large geographic areas, like the Great New York State Fair held at the end of August in Syracuse, could be held.

Broome Agriculture Society officials said they regret not being able to support the community, the midway attraction provider, Gillette Family Shows, the 4-H, vendors and fairgoers.

The 2021 Broome County Fair is scheduled for July 27 to August 1 of next year.
