Since 1871, the Broome County Fair, which is held in Whitney Point, has been welcoming people from all around the Southern Tier and 2022 will be no different as the Fair is gearing up to celebrate its 147th year of helping people make special summertime memories.

The Broome County Fair recently announced on its Facebook page that it had decided on the dates for the 2022 Broome County Fair and those dates will be from Tuesday, July 26 through Sunday, July 31.

While the entertainment schedule has not yet been released for the Broome County Fair, there will no doubt be several activities our community has come to know and love such as tractor pulls, amusement rides and games, demolition derbies, animals, of course, and loads of delicious food options.

Something special that the Broome County Fair has been doing for over 30 years is welcoming special children for its “Special Kids Day” which is an event for members of the Southern Tier community who are identified as having "exceptionalities and differing abilities." The guests who participate in the Fair's "Special Kids Day" are both children and adults and they come from "local camps, institutions, schools, and group homes."

In order to make "Special Kids Day" everything that it needs to be for the special individuals in attendance, the Broome County Fair is asking for help from the community by way of financial support.

In a Facebook post, the Broome County Fair stated, "We are asking for your support to help us be able to host this impactful event. Your donation will provide our exceptional guest with free admission, rides, food and prizes!"

If you would like to make a donation to Special Kids Day at the 2022 Broome County Fair, you can do so securely here.
