A friend who had been skiing with the 43-year-old and 56-year-old Ithaca women told New York State Police she lost contact with the pair in the afternoon of December 1.

The missing skiers were located after nine hours at 12:15 a.m. December 2 by three searchers near Harford Road in the Town of Caroline.  The women were evaluated by Dryden Emergency Medical Services and reunited with their friend.

Teams from 19 departments including the Tompkins, Cortland, Tioga and Cayuga County Sheriff’s Departments, state forest rangers, the state department of homeland security and several fire, ambulance and search team squads assisted in finding the skiers.
