A Johnson City man has admitted to causing the death of a person who was repeatedly stabbed at a large outdoor party in the Town of Union.

20-year-old Caleb Casteline pleaded guilty on Tuesday to first-degree manslaughter.

Casteline had been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of 22-year-old Q-Quan Richardson of Binghamton.

Police said Richardson was attacked during an August 26 gathering on the property of the former IBM Gun Club off Robinson Hill Road.

In a statement, Broome County district attorney Michael Korchak said Casteline acknowledged an "intent to cause serious physical injury" that resulted in Richardson's death.

Under the plea deal, Casteline is expected to be sentenced to 20 years in state prison. Sentencing has been scheduled for January 12.
