Burnside was driving the Honda Civic that sped through a stop sign at Chapin and Leroy streets.

The car slammed into a BMW driven by Ronald Phetphongsy, who was on his way to pick up his grandson at school. Four passengers in the Civic were hurt.

Investigators estimated Burnside was driving at over 60 mph when he ignored the stop sign and crashed into Phetphongsy's vehicle.
