This Friday, September 13, is Friday the 13th (aka the unluckiest day or days of the year). It is also going to be a full moon.

I'm not a superstitious person but I have noticed that some people do act strange during full moons. If you are a superstitious person,  you may want to stay in bed on Friday. God forbid you were to have a black cat walk in front of you, fracture a mirror, or walk under a ladder on Friday the 13th, especially with a full moon in the sky.

Here in the Binghamton area, we are technically going to have a waxing gibbous moon on Friday night, and we will see the full moon on Saturday. But other parts of the US, manly to our west, will see the full moon Friday night.

We may not see the moon at all this Friday in the Binghamton area. According to WBNG, the forecast for Friday night is calling for mostly cloudy skies. So maybe you will see the moon in between the clouds, and maybe you won't.

According to the Farmer's Almanac, the last time there was a full moon on a Friday the 13th was in October back in 2000. They say it won't happen again until the 13th of August in 2049.

So enjoy this rare occurrence on Friday night. That is unless you are a superstitious person. If that's the case, stay in bed and we will wake you up on Saturday.
