I remember the first time I stepped foot into a Toys R Us store. It was like walking into heaven. Well, okay, I'm sure heaven has more than just toys, but you know what I mean.

Growing up in a small town, the stores that sold general merchandise didn't have a large section for toys, so the options were limited and being that I'm so old, there was no internet to buy my favorite toys.

Sure, when Toys R Us built a store in Johnson City, I was a young adult, but they had so much more to sell than toys for kids, and I'd never seen so many toys on display all in one place before, so it was quite an experience.

As we all know, Toys R Us and the adjacent Babies R Us stores shut down it's remaining stores across the nation in 2018. The following year, a company called Tru Kids acquired the Toys R Us intellectual property.

Now, according to WNEP-TV,  WHP Global, a management firm in New York City is taking a controlling stake. This company also owns Anne Klein and Joseph Abboud. What will they do with the brand?

Will there be physical store, pop up stores, or just continue with online sales of Toys R Us and Babies R Us? According to the WNEP-TV article, nothing is currently set in stone. The company will be exploring their options. The toy market is currently soaring, and it's a good opportunity for WHP Global to get involved and help grow the Toys R Us brand.

Would you prefer shopping in a physical Toys R Us store, or would you prefer to shop exclusively online? Either way, it's great that an iconic brand as Toys R Us will continue to be around for years to come.
