A few weeks ago, my wife Chris received an invitation from one of her cousins on her father's side to join a virtual family reunion on Zoom. She was sitting at her laptop in the dining room talking with everyone when she told me to come over and say hello. So I stuck my face in front of the camera and said hi, and went about my business. After she was done I said we should do that with my family.

Well we finally got around to that this weekend. As of Saturday morning, we still weren't sure who was all going to be on the video chat. But being that we haven't all seen each other since Christmas, even if there were only a few of us, it's still would have been better than nothing.

To my surprise, all five of my sisters were on the call. One was with her daughter at the time so we got to see her as well. Then my one sister invited her daughter and son to the conference call. It was great to see them and their kids especially the newest member to our family, Felix.

This is the first time I've seen Felix besides pictures on Facebook. Felix is my great nephew whose parents live in New Jersey just outside of Philadelphia.

There was one scary moment. At one point my brother-in-law John walked behind my sister Margaret to see what she was doing on her laptop. We could all tell he didn't have a shirt on, so I asked if he was naked. He said, “Oh yeah Jim, I just walk around our house naked all the time”. My sister assured us he had shorts on.

We were all on the video chat website for about an hour. And even though we couldn't hug each other, it was a great feeling to have us all together and for us all to catch up on what's been going on since the Coronavirus outbreak.
