Hunger challenges in the region, state and around the country are not going away.

That’s the word from Food Bank of the Southern Tier President and CEO, Natasha Thompson as she appears on the weekly local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up Saturday, March 12.

Thompson talks about the work that is going on to address hunger challenges in the region and a new focus on preventing hunger during the program at 6am on 99.1 The Whale.

Meanwhile the woman who oversees the operations of regional hunger abatement programs is getting new duties. Thompson has been elected to serve as the chair of the Food Bank Association of New York State.

The organization represents the nine regional food banks across the state.
