Happy Valentines Day or Not

Ah Valentine's Day. You either love it or hate it. Can you guess my take on this day?

I'm all for whatever makes people happy, but I've never put a lot of stock into this day. Would I be too insensitive to say it can be an expensive day? Sure, there are other ways to show your love that may not involve taking out a loan to buy flowers, candy, a card and dinner.

Maybe you are good at creating something on your own things that would cause your Valentine to love you that much more.  I am not one of those people.

There was a time my sweetheart and I had a pact that we would not celebrate Valentine's Day. And so it went for a couple of years, but turns out, she wasn't too happy about it. She didn't mention that, but as a guy, I don't read between the lines too well. Lesson learned.

And then there are those who dislike like Valentine's Day, stating that love should be expressed 365 days a year, well, 366 days in 2020, not just on one day. Point taken.

However you celebrate this day, or not, I hope that you and your sweetheart have a great day. I'll be celebrating on Saturday when hopefully the restaurants won't be so busy. I know, good luck with that.
