Goodbye Summer, Hello (Reluctantly) Autumn
And how was your weekend? Did you know last weekend was the last for the Summer of 2020? Yea, a little sad about that. Fall begins at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday (September 22nd.)
If you know me, you know my favorite season is summer. I can tolerate late spring and early fall to a point. Over the past week or so, it's been a bit colder that I'd like to see this time of year. Seems we had frost a bit earlier that we normally do.
But, a frost actually has been a good thing for someone like me, who has had to deal with fall allergies most of my life. ' Hay Fever' as we call it, would start to make my life uncomfortable around the end of August and continue until we would be hit with a frost which normally occurs sometime in October.
That meant the start of the school year was always a challenge for me. Nasal issues and sneezing were a part of every day. So trying to concentrate in class while feeling like crap didn't exactly work out so well. When I was growing up, there was no miracle medicine to help get me through the day, so I just dealt with it as best I could.
Oddly enough over the past few years, I have noticed that 'Hay Fever' has not bothered me as much. And this year I didn't have any symptoms. Maybe it's true that sometimes you outgrow an allergy? I hope so.
Or did my recent adventure with multiple bee stings knock out the seasonal allergy in me? Well, if that was the case, I'd prefer suffering with the allergy than go through that nightmare again.
So for those of you who love Autumn, enjoy your season. Just remember, winter is just around the corner waiting to make our life miserable. Well at least for me.
