It's that time of year again. School is back in session, outside temperatures are cooling down after a rather hot summer, and fall sports are back for another season.

Summer 2024 will soon be just a memory. The first day of Autumn is Sunday, September 22nd at exactly 8:43 a.m. It's the Autumnal Equinox, which means the day will feature equal daylight and nighttime worldwide.

Then, we'll be seeing less and less daylight until December 21st, when we slowly begin to go the other way. Still, it will be a long, cold, dark winter. But we're not discussing that depressing thought right now, are we?

With the beginning of the fall season, you know what we will be experiencing soon after, right? Leaf peepers. Yes, those beautiful green leaves will soon turn to autumn hues of red, orange, and yellow.

The weekly update is a great help for travelers to plan their trip and experience fall in New York State at its peak. You have to admit, the crisp air, a sunny day, and an amazing fall foliage landscape are one big reason we New Yorkers (and Pennsylvanians) are proud to call this area of the Northeast U.S., our home.
