When we look back at 2020, there weren't very many positive things that we wanted to stick around for 2021. There was one thing that I was hoping would make its return and I'm happy to say that it looks like it's coming back.

Broome County Festival Of Lights Is Back

It's the Broome County Festival of Lights at Otsiningo Park. You may remember that for many years there was the Hometown Holiday Lights Spectacular at the park during the Christmas season.

After the flood in 2011 caused electrical problems, the lights and displays disappeared and it looked like it would never come back. In 2020, Dave Pessagno and the board of directors from Spiediefest felt the need to bring back the drive-through holiday lights festival.

They saw this as a great way to brighten up the spirits of the families here in the Southern Tier. Wow, they were right and they are bringing it back later this month. Beginning on November 24th, the Broome County Festival of Lights will be in full force with over 100 additional animated displays.

The price will stay at $15 per car with free admission for veterans again this year and you can go around as many times as you like. With the added displays, you'll want to take several trips around Otsiningo Park. They are planning special nights, surprises, Santa, and fireworks nights.

Fireworks Nights At The Broome County Lights Festival

If you missed the fireworks last year and don't want to miss it this year then save these dates. The first fireworks night is the day after Thanksgiving, November 26th beginning at 7 p.m.

Fireworks are also scheduled for December 18th and again on New Year's Eve. This year the Broome County Lights Festival will go from November 24th until January 2nd. Hours will be Wednesday through Sunday from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. but will stay open later on special nights.

Go here to keep up with any of the latest details. While we wait, here are some of the lights that were on display last year.
