The New York Rangers' magical season ended on Friday night with a 2-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning, in game seven of the Eastern Conference Finals.

If you're a Ranger fan I'm sure you're feeling disappointed. The team played some great games and had many exciting last minute victories.

How good were the Rangers? Well, the Blueshirts were undefeated at home in game sevens until this past series.

Winners of the President's Trophy with 115 points, an NHL best in 2014-15, the Rangers fought hard to make it back to the finals and win it all this year. However, the Lightning lived up to the competition and played some of the best defense in the playoffs, shutting out the Rangers twice on the road, and winning the best of seven series.

I don't think the Rangers ever thought they would lose three games in the series at home, but that's the wild and wacky world of sports.

So we'll close the book on this season with hopes for another great season and possibly another magical journey towards the Stanley Cup in 2016.

Special thanks to the New York Rangers for an exciting season!

Go Rangers!
