Over the past 43 years many of us have had this album on vinyl, eight track, cassette tape, CD, and audio files on our digital players.

Released March 1 1973 Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of The Moon' is one of the biggest musical influences of our generation.

Beginning and ending with a heartbeat, the messages within the songs deal with different aspects of life, which include the passage of time, insanity, greed and conflict.

The album cover is as iconic as a historical painting, a simple trangle with a prism of colors.

'Dark Side of the Moon' reached number one on the Billboards album charts for only one week in 1973, but it remained on the album charts for 741 weeks, and was certified 11 times platinum in 1998.

The entire album is played on classic rock stations all over the world and remains one of the most requested of the classic LP's.

My favorite song on the album is 'Us and Them', the melody and the harmonies tell a story of the frailty of mankind.

I remember when I bought the album. I was spending the night with a group of friends and we listened to the album all night, we had to keep getting up and flipping the record over every 30 minutes.

I remember watching the documentary on how this album was made, it was much more than just a recording session, it was an event.

If you have 30 minutes over the next day to watch the video below I think you'll find it very interesting, it's a documentary as told by the group that creating one of the best musical concept albums of all time.
