Controversial Town Supervisor Opts Not to Run
It appears a politically beleaguered Town of Union official won’t be on the governmental stage much longer.
NewsChannel 34 reports Supervisor Rose Sotak has decided she will not seek another term.
The Republican had been accused of bullying Town employees and had been charged with corrupt use of authority. The indictment in the case was later thrown out but not before many Town officials, including members of the GOP, called for her to resign.
Sotak has filed a law suit against her opponents, saying she has been targeted because she is a woman.
Union Town Councilman Frank Bertoni is expected to formally announce his plans to run for Supervisor May 31.
