For this week's Classic Rock pick, I thought we'd look at one of the headliners for this year's Mountain Jam, The Steve Miller Band. After doing some research, I'd forgotten just how long the band has been around.

The Band's roots began in San Francisco back in 1966. The first album, 'Children of the Future' was released early in 1968. It didn't fare so well, but their second album, 'Sailor' did climb the album charts. That album contains the song Living In The USA.

Altogether, Steve Miller has produced 18 studio albums in addition to half a dozen live albums, plus compilations. There's a long list of musicians who've been a part of the Steve Miller Band over the years, but of course, the man whose name adorns the group's name is the one constant.

Steve Miller was inducted into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame last year, and riding on that success, is touring this year, including headlining Mountain Jam at Hunter Mountain during the three-day festival June 16th through the 18th.

For this week's Classic Rock Pick, enjoy one of my favorite Steve Miller Band tunes, Dance, Dance, Dance. Hopefully, he'll add it to the setlist at Mountain Jam!
