The Binghamton University Bearcat Man scored their first win of the season with a 75-69 victory over Maryland-Baltimore County yesterday afternoon.

Brenton Mills was the high man with 22 points, Bryce Beamer put in 20 points and 10 rebounds, Dan Petcash contributed 10 points.

The Bearcats are 1-3 in conference play and 1-6 overall, the victory broke a seven-game win streak for the UMBC Retrievers who are 3-1 in conference and 7-2 overall.

The Binghamton University Bearcat Women were also victorious yesterday afternoon at the Events Center as they defeated the UMBC Retrievers 65-60 and picked up their first win of the season.

Sophomore Forward Birna Benonysdottir was the top scorer with a career high 22 points and seven rebounds.

The Bearcats prevailed thanks to some key hoops by Denai Bowman in the waning seconds of the tight game, Bowman scored in the paint, and then made two free throws to put the game away.

Kaylee Wasco also contributed with another double figure game scoring 12 points.

The Bearcats are 1-3 in conference play and 1-5 overall, the UMBC Retrievers are 2-2 in conference play and 2-4 overall.

The Bearcat Women will host the Hartford Hawks (1-2 conference- overall) this Saturday at the Events Center at 2pm, , check your listings for possible game coverage on ESPN , and Roger Neel will also have pregame, halftime, and postgame information on the Bearcats Facebook Page.
