America East Releases B.U.’s Men’s Basketball Schedule
Binghamton University Men's Basketball schedule was released today by the America East Conference. To cut down on travel, they have only released schedules for the teams within the conference so far, and all the teams will play back-to-back games at the same site.
There are now ten teams in the America East Conference including newcomers NJIT . The B.U. men's schedule will start with back-to-back games against Stony Brook December 19th and 20th on the Doctor Vai Lee Court at the Event Center at Binghamton University in Vestal. The Bearcats will then travel 2 UMBC in Baltimore Maryland for back-to-back games on Sunday December 27th and Monday December 28th.
Due the Covid-19 restrictions, America East will not have spectators in attendance for the basketball games through at least January 1st 2021. Which means the first game that you can see in person, depending on restrictions due to the Coronavirus, would be either January 9th or January 10th when the Bearcats are scheduled to host the University of Vermont.
All the games are scheduled to be broadcast live on either ESPN + or ESPN3. As of now, Binghamton University is not planning on broadcasting any of the games, home or away, on radio, to cut down the amount of people traveling with the team, and inside the arenas on game day.
In my opinion, this year's radio broadcasts of the games would be more important than ever, especially for the games that will be played without spectators in the stands. That way the season ticket holders and fans can hear how their Bearcats are doing.
