Broome Records Five More COVID Fatalities
Five more Broome County residents have died of COVID-19 while positive cases have jumped by 174 over the weekend.
Broome County’s death toll now stands at 122 while overall cases since the start of the pandemic number 5,208.
Cortland County has also added a fatality to its numbers for a total of five. There were 20 new cases from November 27 for a total of 1,435.
Chenango County reported 34 new cases from November 27 while Tioga County added 21 cases for a total of 1,148.
Delaware County records a total of 372 cases and the death toll stands at nine.
Pennsylvania’s weekly update shows the number of cases in the Keystone State rose by over 47,000 for the week as the Commonwealth continues to have an infection rate of over 11 percent. Compare that with New York’s statewide positivity rate of 4.57% while the positive rate in the micro-clusters is at 6.22%.
All the counties in the Northern Tier are now listed as substantial exposure with Susquehanna and Wayne joining Bradford County that has been on the list for months. Bradford County had 180 additional cases for the week for a total of 1,859. There were two more deaths for a total of 32. Susquehanna County had 61 new cases for a total of 621 while its death toll remained steady at 32. Wayne County’s positive cases jumped over the week by 129 for a total of 538 but there were no additional deaths. Wayne County’s death toll remains at 12.
