DSS and the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance sent out text messages this week to around 96,000 households with children whose P-EBT food benefits were issued onto Medicaid Common Benefit Identification Cards (MCBI) and who have not yet redeemed any of those benefits.

DSS officials say they want to make sure the qualified households know the benefits are still available to them and a website is available with resources to help in creating a personal identification number for CBI card that is linked to the food benefit account.

The text would have been from 877-452-0098 and read:

Your child has been issued P-EBT food benefits that have not been accessed. Visit for info on how to access these benefits.”
