Here are some ongoing projects, along with new road work projects to be aware of before heading out to whatever your daily destinations may be during the week of September 1, 2025.

Village of Johnson City

Through mid-October, Village of Johnson City crews are busy with concrete curb and road work at the intersection of Main Street at Avenue C / Willow Street and around 50 feet in all directions of the Intersection.
Expect detours and traffic delays. Parking on Main Street will also be affected, but access to Businesses on Main Street remains open.
Note: The Village of Johnson City requires that all parked vehicles be removed from working locations by 6 a.m. on working days.

Village Of Endicott

In the Village of Endicott, there is a milling process (weather permitting) on Skye Island Drive from East Franklin Street to Ellis Avenue, and on Ellis Avenue from Skye Island Drive to Clark Street. Paving will follow next week.
During the project, those roads are closed to all traffic except for emergency vehicles. Flaggers are on-site for residents.
The Village of Endicott is asking that residents not park on the street during the road work period. Driveway parking is permitted.

Town of Union

Continuing work on Route 201 northbound area of the Town of Union; the Town of Vestal Line 1 lane may be of 2 lanes blocked for soundwall removal and replacement on 201 NB at Riverside Drive Exit. Day work is from 7 am to 5 pm with no lane closures. The shoulder is closed with a pedestrian detour in place.

Binghamton

US 11, both directions between Century Drive, Binghamton, and Page Road, Binghamton. Two north of four lanes blocked for wall replacement through November 15 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, weather dependent. Flagger personnel are present. All northbound traffic is shifted to the Southbound lane in each direction, utilizing the south lanes.

Broome County

  • Cleaning ditches and rebuilding shoulders on Colesville Road, Trim Street, North Road, Cherry Valley Hill Road & Hyde Street
  • Culvert work on Broome County Airport Road, Owen Hill Road, Hyde Street & Stratmill Road • Grader patching on Old State Road
  • Surface treatment on Fox Farm Road/Old Route 17
  • Guide rail repairs on Bunn Hill Road & Broome County Airport Road
  • Mowing right of way and painting on various county roads

Interstate 81, both directions between Exit 6 S-N- US 11 ramp, Chenango and Upper Front Street US 11 Chenango. One alternate lane of 2 lanes is blocked for bridge repair to occur on September 8th between the hours of 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tioga County

Continuing work on Interstate 81/Route 17 in Tioga County from Owego to Apalachin, with the construction section narrowed to one lane of traffic for east and west travel.

Route 17 westbound between Exit 62 - NY 282 Nichols and Exit 60 Barton. The right lane of the two lanes is blocked for pothole repair from September 2nd through the 5th during the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Route 17 eastbound between Exit 64 - NY 96, Owego, and Exit 65 - NY 434 ramp, Owego. The right lane of the two lanes is blocked for patching, milling & filling from September 2nd through the 5th from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Please use caution in work zones, even when they are not active, as some may be modified as construction progresses. Keep those road construction workers safe.
