Broome County Humane Society to Wave Adoption Fees
October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month and the Broome County Humane Society has planned a free adoption event this Saturday, October 14th, in Binghamton!
From 11am-4pm on Saturday, October 14th, the Broome County Humane Society at 167 Conklin Avenue in Binghamton will participate in the free adoption event called “Empty the Shelters.” This is your opportunity to welcome a dog or a cat into your life and into their forever home, free of charge.
Adoption fees will be waived for qualified adoptive families thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation who will be covering the cost.
Before you show up at the shelter for the free adoption event, you’ll need to get some paperwork in order. According to the Broome County Humane Society, you should bring these things:
- Proof of residency.
- Verification from a veterinarian that any pets you already have are up-to-date on vaccinations and are spayed or neutered.
- References.
If you’d like more information on this free adoption event, please reach out to the Broome County Humane Society at (607) 724-3709. If you’re unable to adopt, but would like to show support, join us at the Parlor City Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 14th between 11am and 8pm at Mountain Top Grove on Hance Road in Vestal. A portion of the proceeds from the Parlor City Oktoberfest will benefit the Broome County Humane Society!
