With all of us spending a lot more time at home, we are all looking for some entertainment. Some people just binge watch TV, some people have hobbies that occupy their time, and others turn to board games.

During the winter, when the weather is really crappy outside, Chris and I will grab a few drinks and play games. We literally have a closet in the bar in our basement full of board games. There must be at least 30 games in there. From classics like Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, and Sorry, to newer games like Apples to Apples, Buzzword, and Cards Against Humanity.

One of the holiday traditions for my family is playing board games. After we are done eating and everything is cleaned up, we will breakout different board games while enjoying some adult beverages and enjoying each other's company.

One holiday many years ago, Chris vowed to never be on my team while playing Pictionary ever again. She would get so upset with me because first of all I suck at art, I would draw a dog and she thought it look like a cow, and I'm always watching what other people are drawing on “all plays” to try and put both drawings together to come up with the answer. She would get frustrated thinking I was watching the other teams more then watching what she was drawing.

One of the things we've been doing to pass the time over the last 10 weeks is playing board games. Sometimes when Ian is home, we will break out Monopoly and play until the wee hours of the morning. We once played a game of Monopoly that lasted so long, it had to be continued the next day.

Over the years we have enjoyed hosting friends, or going to their houses for a “game night”. It's a great inexpensive way to spend time with family and friends.

Even during while staying home, you could download games such as Evil Apples or Quiplash and play with friends over the internet.

Here are just some of the games we enjoy playing.
