A Tioga County teenager died after the car he was driving went off a rural road and overturned.

Authorities say 16-year-old Jacob Rogers of Nichols was killed in the crash, which was reported shortly before 10 p.m. Monday.

According to the Tioga County Sheriff's Office, a 2003 Toyota Camry operated by Rogers was traveling south when it went off the west side of Park Settlement Road in the town of Candor.

Investigators say one person who was in the vehicle - whose name was not made public - was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

A news release issued Tuesday afternoon did not provide any information about the circumstances surrounding the crash.
