Authorities say a woman who was a passenger on a motorcycle died following a crash in Tioga County.

Investigators say 62-year-old Christine Mohr of Apalachin was flown by helicopter to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre after the bike smashed into a tree in the town of Owego. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

According to the sheriff's office, Mohr was riding on a motorcycle driven by 57-year-old Philip Minckler of Owego.

The bike was northbound on Montrose Turnpike shortly after 5:30 p.m. Monday when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

Minckler was taken to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City. The nature of his injuries and his condition were not released by the sheriff's office.

Investigators did not indicate what caused the crash.
