Seems a bit odd to be talking about the upcoming Spiedie Fest and Balloon Rally at this time of year, right? Normally, we're talking about the three-day event beginning around April, since it's always occurred during the first weekend in August.

This year, the organizers moved the annual Spiedie Fest and Balloon Rally to October 8th through the 10th, and we're looking forward to a fun weekend event to put a cap on the summer 2021 outdoor festival season.

The festival had to take a break last year due to the pandemic, so it's great to have all that it offers, back again, including the concerts, meet & greets, hot air balloons, food, and vendors. And with the change in the dates, college students from SUNY Broome and Binghamton University will have the opportunity to attend, since they are normally on summer break when Spiedie Fest weekends were in August.

Over the many years of Spiedie Fest, we got to enjoy some great rock acts including The Mashall Tucker Band, Foghat, Don Felder, Brian Howe & Bad Company, Mark Farner & Grand Funk Railroad, Kansas, Blue Oyster Cult, Loverboy, Eddie Money, and Cheap Trick to name a few.

And that got me thinking about future rock acts who would we like to see on the stage. There are still many rock and rollers out on tour, so I came up with six that I think would be fun to bring to a future Spiedie Fest. Sure, these acts are not cheap. Probably out of the budget, but it's fun to dream, right?

Add to the list of who you would like to see come and rock the stage at a future Spiedie Fest & Balloon Rally.
